Why there is no price list
Online stores differ too much for a fixed menu to work. A twenty-product Shopify store on a good theme and a four-thousand-product BigCommerce store with an ERP connection are both "e-commerce websites", but the work involved is not comparable. Rather than publish packages that would need exceptions, we scope each project and quote it in writing.
If you want a sense of typical market ranges before you contact us, the e-commerce cost guide collects published 2026 figures from Australian price guides.
What a written quote includes
| Part of the quote | What it lists |
|---|---|
| Scope | Every template and page type, with the number of revision rounds |
| Platform | The platform we recommend and why, plus any alternatives considered |
| Apps and extensions | Each one, what it does and its monthly cost |
| Data | What is migrated, from where, and how URLs are redirected |
| Integrations | Each connection, its method (app, middleware or custom) and any running cost |
| Content | What we write, what you supply, and photography requirements |
| Testing | Devices, browsers, accessibility checks and test orders |
| Launch and after | Launch tasks, the two-week review and optional care plan pricing |
| Running costs | A three-year estimate of platform, app, hosting and maintenance costs |
| Price and stages | The total in AUD, GST shown where it applies, and the payment stages |
What drives the figure
- Templates. The number of unique page designs and how much each differs from a base theme.
- Design approach. Configuring a theme, adapting one heavily or designing from scratch.
- Catalogue. Product types, options, variants, bundles and customer-specific pricing.
- Migration. The volume of products, customers, orders and URLs to move.
- Integrations. The number of systems to connect and how unusual their data is.
- Content. Product copy, policy pages and guides we write versus what you supply.
- Timeline. A fixed launch date close to busy trading periods leaves less room to spread the work out.
How payment works
Projects are paid in stages tied to work you have seen: a deposit to start, a payment when designs are approved and the balance at launch. The quote names each stage and its amount. If you ask for something outside the scope, we quote it in writing before doing it, and you can say no.
Prices in the quote follow the rules we write about
Our quotes give a total in Australian dollars, with GST shown where it applies. We do not add card surcharges; since 1 October 2026 those are no longer allowed on eftpos, Mastercard or Visa payments, and the RBA says American Express and UnionPay also removed surcharging, with PayPal following on 5 October 2026[1].
Running costs, not just the build
The build is one cost. The store's platform plan, apps or extensions, hosting where relevant and maintenance continue every month. One Australian price guide puts the point well: a build quote that hides a large monthly app bill is not cheaper, only deferred[2]. Our quote includes a three-year running-cost estimate so you can compare options on what they will really cost.
Care plans after launch
Every build includes a review two weeks after launch. After that, care plans are optional and priced separately. They can cover theme and app updates, update testing on WooCommerce staging sites, small content changes and seasonal campaigns. You can also run the store yourself using our handover notes; many hosted stores need little ongoing technical work.
What you will never find in our quotes
- Hidden app or licence costs that appear after launch
- Lock-in: your domain, platform account, theme code and content are yours
- Ranking, traffic or sales guarantees, which no website build can honestly promise
- Fees for things we did not do
Getting a quote
Send a short description of your store through the contact page, or use the project planner and paste in the brief it creates. We reply with questions or a first outline, and a written quote follows once the scope is clear.
Questions
Can you give me a rough figure before a full scope?
Yes. After a short conversation we can usually give a range for your scope. The written quote follows once details are settled.
Do you charge for quotes?
No. For large or complex projects, a paid discovery stage may be suggested, and it is quoted in writing first.
Are your prices in Australian dollars?
Yes, with GST shown where it applies.
What if the scope changes during the project?
Changes are quoted in writing before they start. You can accept, adjust or decline them.
